Statement on Suffolk Libraries

Libraries Connected, the membership body for public libraries, has responded to the news that Suffolk’s library service will be taken in-house

Isobel Hunter MBE, chief executive of Libraries Connected, said:

“On behalf of the trustees and staff of Libraries Connected, I want to say a huge thank you to the Suffolk Libraries team for all they’ve accomplished in the last 12 years. By bringing the service back in-house, Suffolk County Council has a daunting task ahead of it. We hope it has sufficient time and resources to sustain the first-class service that Suffolk library users have come to expect, alongside the pioneering projects and programmes that Suffolk Libraries established. We will of course work with the Council to provide any support we can during the transition period and beyond.”
