Libraries Connected has been funded by Arts Council England (ACE) to deliver an eLicensing project which aims to increase affordability and availability of digital content to public library services. We are now seeking an evaluation partner for the project.

We welcome the inclusion of public libraries in updated literacy guidance issued by the Department for Education.

The research was commissioned by Libraries Connected East.

Libraries Connected has welcomed the Lords Communications and Digital Committee’s report into digital exclusion.

Arts Council England (ACE) is delivering Part One (Strand 1) of the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) Know Your Neighbourhood fund designed to widen participation in volunteering and tackle loneliness in 27 disadvantaged areas across England. Libraries Connected is procuring and commissioning an evaluation on behalf of ACE to measure the success of the project. The librarians behind a family-friendly tech festival, an innovative prison library and a scheme to inspire young entrepreneurs are among this year’s winners of the Libraries Connected Awards. The Awards celebrate the achievements of library workers who have had an exceptional impact on their library service, users or their local communities. The Awards have six categories reflecting the core services that modern library services provide.

The funds will be shared out by Libraries Connected amongst each of England’s public library services.

This submission is based on the experience of our members and particularly the work of the Information and Digital Universal Library Offer group.

This is the second round of the £20.5 million Fund, which supports library services in England by helping them upgrade their buildings and improve digital infrastructure.

We are pleased to announce that we will be managing part of a new government programme that will fund library projects reducing loneliness and widening volunteering opportunities. The scheme is part of the Know Your Neighbourhood (KYN) Fund, a £29 million package of funding from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), designed to widen participation in volunteering and tackle loneliness in 27 disadvantaged areas across England.
